Canada Issued A Postage Stamp Wishing Eid Mubarak To Muslims And We’re All Like, Shukran Trudeau

Canada has proven itself to be the kind of nation that accepts diversity and taking in different cultures at a time when the rest of the world is grappling with intolerance, racism and religious phobias

And certainly their Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, is a man with a wonderful PR team behind him

Examples of him showing sympathy toward minorities in the country and immigrants are what have made him endearing. Like this image of him letting Syrian refugees in the country showed that the nation believes in the idea of ‘One World’. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that Mr. Trudeau is as good looking as other famous Canadian men, like RYan Gosling, Ryan Reynolds and Drake.

As yet another example of being accepting toward people of non-Western cultures, Canada is issuing a special Eid postage stamp honoring their Muslim citizens

The stamp says Eid Mubarak without specifying which Eid so your desi re-gifting heart can use it not just for choti Eid but bari Eid as well. Yayyy!

The design is especially made to depict Muslim art and architecture from history.

“As Canada reaches its 150^th birthday, our stamp committee reflected on some themes that need to reflect the Canada of today,” Deepak Chopra, President and Chief Executive Officer of Canada Post, told the audience at the Richmond Hill unveiling.

Apart from Eid, Canada has also issued stamps celebrating Christmas and Chinese New Year.

So, y’know. They’re not just appeasing the Muslims. They’re celebrating everyone.
